Olipass

Olipass is a South Korean biotech, listed on KOSDAQ, developing RNA-based medicines, drugs that work by silencing the genetic instructions that cause disease rather than targeting the disease protein directly.

Its lead programme is a non-opioid painkiller designed to selectively suppress a sodium-ion channel gene linked to pain perception, an approach intended to avoid the serious side effects seen with conventional small-molecule pain drugs. The company's core platform, built around its proprietary chemically modified nucleic-acid molecule called OPNA, is designed to be applicable across multiple disease areas, and it is also developing a treatment for ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).
