KnJ makes silicon carbide (SiC) components, specifically the ring-shaped parts that protect the interior of the plasma chambers used to etch patterns onto semiconductor wafers, as well as SiC-coated parts used in LED manufacturing.

These consumable parts are supplied to semiconductor manufacturers, with memory-chip makers forming the core customer base. Listed on KOSDAQ, Korea's tech-focused small-cap board, the company produces its SiC parts using a chemical vapour deposition (CVD) process, which bonds carbon to silicon to create a material better suited to the high-intensity plasma environments of advanced chip fabrication than conventional silicon alone.
